Meet Dr. Chuu, a true gentleman with a kind and pure heart who treats everyone with respect and courtesy. He's a passionate marathon runner with 26.2 miles under his belt and counting.
Dr. Chuu's background includes being a pediatrician at the National Taiwan University School of Medicine and later completing medical studies at Johns Hopkins University. He then worked as a cancer tumor and hematology specialist, helping many patients who were struggling with their diagnoses.
With a deep understanding of the impermanence of life, Dr. Chuu strives to make a positive impact while he can. This drive to help others extends to his charitable donations to non-profit organizations from various fields, as well as his volunteer work at the temple. The Amitofo Buddhist Nonprofit Association is grateful for his generosity.
Julia moved to New York, USA in 1983 and has been residing in the United States since then. Before her move, she was a reporter in Taiwan. She was able to secure a green card by working for a Chinese-language newspaper in New York. Later, she worked in the New York City government in the local tax department. Julia had a passion for real estate, so she obtained a New York State real estate license to make a career change. She learned about real estate investment, property management, and loan processes through her real estate sales experiences. In 2009, she went to Las Vegas to take classes and received a Broker license, which allowed her to start her own real estate company. During the bank expropriated house rush in 2010, her real estate company officially established.
Julia had an affection for Buddhist and Taoist temples since childhood and converted to Buddhism in 2006. In 2010, she founded the Amitofo Buddhist Nonprofit Association to serve the community and spread Buddhism. She invites everyone to volunteer and serve the community.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted everyone, but a group of friends have come together to make a difference. They've established a non-profit temple to help people in their recovery. Our team consists of everyday volunteers who are passionate about giving back to the community.
Our goal is to provide a space for spiritual and emotional well-being, while also engaging with the Las Vegas community. We are offering free services such as meditation, flower arranging, gentle exercise, and healthcare knowledge.
We are not seeking any financial contributions but instead hope to spread positivity in these trying times. If you're interested in joining us, please feel free to reach out. However, as we have limited volunteers, we ask that you call ahead to make an appointment. I am available Thursday and some weekends.

With half a century spent in the United States, I have seen my kids start families of their own. Fate brought them to Las Vegas to retire after leaving Southern California and ending their long-standing business. This new journey has allowed me to meet heroes and successful individuals from diverse backgrounds.
My desire is to give back to the community through volunteering and serving others without seeking any reward. Whether it's through personal beliefs or fate, everyone has a purpose in life. And for me, this city offers numerous opportunities to fulfill that purpose.
It's wonderful to see the Chinese community grow and thrive in Las Vegas, and it's time for more comprehensive and quality community services to be available. Maintaining cultural cohesion and preserving customs is a continuous effort for the Chinese community to help the next generation integrate into American society while keeping their roots and gaining recognition.
I hope to find a platform that allows me to invest in and guide more Chinese individuals towards an active and fulfilling retirement life. It would be a fulfilling contribution to the community.
